When a customer places an order, taxis are booked on the ‘pick-up’ dial, located on the sliding bar in the Orders - Set Up area.
For example, based on the example above, if an order comes in at 12pm, the taxi is booked for 12.10pm.
Note: the order is approved automatically.
While the taxi driver is happy to wait for 5 minutes...it is best to give yourself some wiggle room in terms of timing. If most orders take 10 minutes to make on average…maybe set the dial to 15 minutes (your call). Also, allow that the taxi driver could be at your venue any time between 12.08pm and 12.15pm – however, the 5 minutes will start from the 12.10pm mark.
The customer is still told the time on the delivery bar (see below); so be sure to keep an eye on these bars and adjust when needed.
Note: at this stage, unlike other orders, you will no longer be able to set the delivery time. Be sure to look at these dials and keep an eye on them.
Additional Example:
Based on the below dials, if an order hits the system at 6.15pm…the taxi will be at your doorstep at 6.25pm and the customer is told their order will be with them at 6.45pm (yes, tracking links are provided/sent).
