Head to bookings > deposit. Deposit - if you would like your customers to pay a deposit, ensure you turn this toggle on. Fill out the deposit amount.
You will need to have your payment gateway connected.
Pre Auth Toggle - you can turn this on if you would like to charge later if they do not show up for the event.
The WowApps system offers five different types of deposits, each of which will be discussed in greater detail below:
| Time | A time deposit is used to put a deposit on a booking between two times -- a start time and an end time |
| All Day | All day deposit refers to a deposit that occurs throughout the day, regardless of the time. |
| At Capacity | At capacity applies when the restaurant is at a certain capacity the deposit will click in. |
| Booking Pax | Booking Pax is when a group of people makes a booking of a certain size. So, for example, if you enter 4, any bookings with a value of 4 or higher will require a deposit. |
Please note
- Deposits are taken in full at the time of booking
- Deposits will not auto refund if a booking is cancelled. To refund a deposit you will need to log into your payment gateway
- Bookings that have a deposit attached, are highlighted in WOWAPPS
- You can set your own booking policy via the announcement text section
- At this time, Google does not support deposits
Before adding a deposit
Always connect the deposit to a payment gateway prior to adding it to the order form.
Here's how to go about it in the following manner:
Step 1: Navigate to the "Settings" section.
Step 2: Connect either Stripe or Square.
Time Deposit
Step 1: Go to the Deposits tab, which is located under Bookings.
Step 2: Enable the "Enable Booking Deposits" toggle.
Step 3: Select the blue "Add another deposit period" button.
Step 4: Determine whether the deposit will be recurring or single. For a single deposit, you can choose the date when the deposit will be made once, and for recurring deposits, you can choose the day/days when deposits will always be made. Simply click on each day to apply that feature if you want to select every day of the week.
Step 5: Select Time deposit.
Step 6: Determine the timeframe for which the deposit is valid.
Step 7: Enter your deposit amount. Keep in mind that this amount is per person.
Step 8: Include a message if desired.
Step 9: If you want to add another deposit period, click the "add another deposit period" button.
Step 10: Do not forget to save your work!
All Day Deposit
Step 1: Select the Deposits tab under Bookings.
Step 2: Enable "Booking Deposits"
Step 3: Click the blue "Add another deposit period" button.
Step 4: Decide whether it is a recurring or single deposit. For single deposits, select the date, and for recurring deposits, select the day(s) when deposits will always occur. To select every day of the week, simply click on each day.
Step 5: Select All day Deposit
Step 6. Enable the feature by clicking the toggle.
Step 7: Put in the deposit amount. Remember, this amount is per person.
Step 8: Add a message if preferred.
Step 9: To add another deposit period, click the "add another deposit period" button.
Step 10: Save your work!
At Capacity Deposit
Step 1: Navigate to the Deposits tab, which can be found under the Bookings menu option.
Step 2: Select "Enable booking deposits"
Step 3: Select the blue "Add another deposit period" button that appears on the screen.
Step 4: You need to decide whether you want to make a recurring or a single deposit. In the case of a one-time deposit, you can choose the one time date on which the deposit will be made, and in the case of recurring deposits, you can choose the day or days on which deposits will be made on a regular basis. If you want to select each day of the week individually, simply click on each day to activate that feature.
Step 5: Select the At Capacity option.
Step 6: Fill in the blanks with the necessary information
Step 7: Enter the amount of the deposit. Keep in mind that this is a per-person fee.
Step 8: If you want to, you can include a message.
Step 9: If you wish to make another deposit, you can do so by selecting "add another deposit period" from the drop-down menu.
Step 10: Do not forget to save your work!
Booking Pax
Step 1: Go to the Deposits tab, which is located under Bookings.
Step 2: Enable the "Enable Booking Deposits" toggle.
Step 3: Select the blue "Add another deposit period" button.
Step 4: Determine whether the deposit will be recurring or single.
