What is Request Mode in Booking?
Request Mode is a manual booking setting used by venues. Instead of confirming a table immediately when a customer tries to book, the system sends a booking request to the venue.
How it works:
- Customer sends a booking request – They select a date, time, and party size, but the booking is not confirmed yet.
- The request is pending – It will stay in a "pending" state until the venue manually accepts or declines it
- The venue must take action – If the venue doesn’t respond within a set time, the request will automatically expire, and the customer will not have a confirmed booking.
Important Notes for Venues Using Request Mode:
- You are responsible for manually blocking out unavailable times in advance. The system will still allow customers to send requests unless you do this.
- If you don't respond to a request in time, it will expire automatically, and the customer may go elsewhere.
- This mode gives you more control but also requires active management.
How to use it follow the instructions below:
Step 1:
Log in to your Manager’s App
Go to the “Bookings”
Tap on “Set Up”
Make sure the “Enable Max Pax” toggle is turned OFF.
- ⚠️ Important: The “Revert to Request Mode to handle booking requests manually when all tables are booked” option will only appear if Max Pax is disabled.
Once “Enable Max Pax” is off, you will now see the “Revert to Request Mode” setting.
Toggle “Revert to Request Mode” ON to allow the system to switch to manual booking request mode when all tables are booked.
Step 2:
Once you’ve turned on “Revert to Request Mode”, you can now customise your booking preferences to better suit your venue's needs.
