What is a Discount feature?

It offers discounts to customers when they order through the WOWAPPS ordering system, either online or via mobile.

The Discount feature helps to:

• Attract more customers by offering promotions or deals.
• Increase online ordering activity.
• Encourage customer loyalty.
• Run special campaigns (e.g. first-time user discounts, happy hour deals, etc.).

Within the WOWAPPS discount system, there are two ways discounts can be applied to customer orders: Discount Codes and Promotions.

• Discount Code:
  • Customers must be provided with a specific discount code.
  • They need to manually enter this code during checkout to receive the discount.
  • The discount only applies if the correct code is entered.
  • Example: A customer receives a code “SAVE20” via email and enters it to get 20% off their order.
• Promotion (Promo):
  • Promotions are automatic discounts that apply when customers meet certain predefined conditions.
  • Customers do not need to enter any code.
  • Once the requirements are satisfied (such as spending a minimum amount, purchasing specific items, or ordering during a promotional period), the discount is applied automatically at checkout.
  • Example: A promotion offers a 15% discount automatically for orders over $50.

How It Works (For the Customer):

1. The customer selects items from the online menu.
2. At checkout, the discount is applied automatically or with a promo code (depending on how the business set it up).
3. The total price is reduced, and the customer pays the new discounted price.

Let's say a café offers this discount:

"Get 10% OFF when you spend $30 or more on any online order."

How it would work:

• A customer places an order online through the café’s WOWAPPS menu.
• They add items worth $32.
• The system detects that the minimum spend ($30) is met.
• A 10% discount is applied → $32 × 10% = $3.20 off.
• The customer pays $28.80 instead of $32.

To use it follow the instructions below:

Step 1:

Log In to the Manager's App

Click on “Order” and click on “Discounts”

And click on “Add Discount”

Step 2:

Once you're on the Discounts page in your WOWAPPS Manager's App, follow these steps to customise your discount:

Choose Discount Type

• Select whether you’re offering a:
  • Promotion (automatically applied)
  • Code-based Discount (customer must enter a code)

 If using a code, enter your preferred discount code (e.g., “SAVE10”).

If you’re using Promotion Code 

You can use as Google Promotion (For Promotions Only)

• If you're creating a Promotion, you can enable “Use As Google Promotion.”
• When enabled, this discount will:
  • Be shown as a promotion in Google Ordering
  • Help attract more visibility from customers using Google to place orders

⚠️ Note: Only one discount can be active as a Google Promotion at a time.

 Choose Discount Value Type

• Decide how the discount will be applied:
  • Percentage (e.g., 10% off)
  • Fixed Price (e.g., $5 off)

Set Minimum Requirements (Optional)

• Toggle Minimum Requirement ON if needed.
• Choose one or both:
  • Minimum purchase amount (e.g., spend $30 or more)
  • Minimum quantity of items (e.g., must order at least 3 items)

Set Usage Limits (Optional)

• Control how the discount can be used:
  • One Redeem Per Customer – limits to a single use per person
  • In-App Only – discount only works through the WOWAPPS mobile app

Set Availability Time

• Choose the start date and time for when the discount becomes active.
• Set the end date and time for when the discount expires.

⏰ This allows you to run time-sensitive offers like Happy Hours or Weekend Specials.

Review all your settings.

Click “Save” and make sure the discount is enabled.
