What customers can and can't choose when booking — sections vs. tables, and why specific table selection isn't available.
The answer
When customers book through WOWAPPS, they can select a section (e.g. Main Dining, Outdoor, Bar) but not a specific table within that section. Table assignment is managed by your venue staff, not by the customer.
This is by design: table assignment depends on how the floor fills up on the day, which the venue controls.
Currently, customers cannot:
- Select a specific table number
- Be prevented from seeing certain sections during booking (sections set up in your floor plan are visible to customers)
Customers can:
- Choose a preferred section when it's offered during the booking flow
- Note seating preferences in the special requests field
For venue staff
Hiding individual sections from the booking widget isn't available yet — all sections you create are visible to customers booking online. Section visibility controls are on our product roadmap.
