Overview

The Half & Half feature allows customers to select two different product options as part of a single deal item, where supported.

This is particularly useful for products such as pizzas that can be divided into two different flavors or varieties.

This guide explains how to enable the Half & Half option when configuring a deal item.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to 'Orders' > 'Deals'.
   

2. Select an existing deal or create a new one.
   

3. If you're creating a new deal, fill in the required details and click 'Save Deal'. For detailed instructions, see How to Create a Deal.
   
    

4. Open the 'Deal Items' tab.
   
    

5. Click 'Add Deal Item'.
   

6. Enter a name for the deal item, such as Choose Pizza.
   

7. Enable the 'Allow half & half' toggle.
   This allows customers to choose two different options for the same deal item.
   

8. Under Allowed Options, click 'Add a Category'.
   Choose which categories or products customers can select as part of the deal.
   

9. Select the category you want to include.
   Adding a category allows customers to choose from products within that category.
   

10. Click 'Add' to confirm.
    

11. Under Allowed Options, select 'Add a Product'.
    You can also add specific products separately, even if they already belong to an included category.
    

12. Select for the product you want to include.
    

13. Select the product. Click 'Add'.
    

14. Enter an Upcharge, if applicable.
    

15. Click 'Update Deal' to save your changes.
    
     

What Is an Upcharge?

An Upcharge is an additional amount added to the deal price when a customer selects a particular product.

This is useful when some products cost more than the standard options included in the deal.

Example:

A deal includes a selection of pizzas at a fixed price.

• Regular pizza options are included in the deal price.
• BBQ Chicken Pizza is configured with a $2.00 upcharge.
• When a customer selects BBQ Chicken Pizza, an additional $2.00 may apply.

This allows you to offer premium products within the same deal while accounting for their additional cost.

Why Add a Product Separately if It's Already in the Category?

You might wonder why we need to add an individual product when its category has already been included.

The purpose is to configure product-specific pricing.

For example:

• Pizza Category: Added to provide customers with the available pizza selections.
• BBQ Chicken Pizza: Added separately so an individual upcharge can be configured.

This setup is intended to let you apply an additional charge to a specific product without changing the pricing of the entire category.
